Furano Snowmobiling & Ice Fishing Day Trip
This day trip to the Furano area combines snowmobiling & ice fishing, among our most popular winter wonderland activities. Revel in the thrill of a 1-hour guided snowmobiling excursion in the snowy fields & forests outside of Furano, an activity suitable even for beginners. For lunch, we recommend the Michelin Guide rated Kumagera Izakaya, with a large variety of dishes such as nabe, shabu shabu & more. After lunch, we’ll drive about an hour from Furano to to Lake Kanayama, a remote mountain-ringed lake that is one of most atmospheric ice fishing sites in Hokkaido. You’ll receive expert instruction and all the necessary equipment for ice fishing, including boots & a tent for protection from the elements, so you can fish comfortably on the frozen ice. Any smelt you catch will be prepared into a tasty tempura-style snack on the spot. Our final stop will be a local products “farmer’s” market, which showcases the region’s locally-produced wares. The drive back to Sapporo takes about 2.5 hours, where you can be dropped-off at any location in the city. These two popular outdoor winter activities makes for a great day out in nature!
